Xonotic very low framerate1/30/2024 The linux community is more mature that that, and that's not to be expected of the general user, come on guys. Oof with that elitist "build it yourself" attitude (I don't get to see my monthly income, and have more important things to worry about with life than upgrading my hardware) This drive is why I'm pushing for compatibility in Blender rather than simply digging in the trash for a hopeful Core2Duo score. (I'm accepting my current losses for broader support) Once I can compile my own portable interpreters, I'll be able to upgrade to a later python version. I want to make sure my projects support systems that date all the way back to the Win2000 days, while also supporting modern hardware. hehįor the exact same reason we're having this compatibility discussion (p圓4 was the last version of python to support WinXP, and works on Win10) I'm still stuck on python34 for my projects. ![]() Granted I'm not much into compiled languages yet, or I'd explain how. ![]() I'm sure though there are other ways to support the tech other than just using compiler directives :/ I don't really like Intel since they don't seem to apply common sense to their CPU architecture, overpricing aside. Interesting, yeah I don't really know my CPU too well since I don't really care about it too much (I shouldn't have to anyways from a user perspective) (the needed libraries are bundled, which is why it's guaranteed to work, just download and run like a portable executable)ĬPU: 圆4 Intel Atom () 1.83GHz with hyperthreading disabled May I request an appimage release to guarantee the release works just as well for everyone else? :) In the meantime if I may request another solution to this library issue Yes I intend to overwrite the bad library if possible Looks like the library assumption might be correct :)Īny ideas as to what library I might need to copy? It appears there's no frame issues on this machine (my Atom) GPU: onboard Nvidia GeForce GT 610 PCIe1 on nvidia-384.130Īfter testing the same version (literally copied from my Void install) I do have another compact machine: (the only machine on internet currently)ĬPU: 圆4 Intel Atom D2550 1.83GHz with hyperthreading disabled GPU: Galaxy Nvidia GeForce GT 430 1GB PCIe1 on nvidia-390.116 ![]() It's possible though a library could be causing the CPU spike if that's what's going on.ĬPU: 圆4 Intel Pentium 4 3.5GHz with hyperthreading enabled At the very worst, you'll have to re-install 12.04.4 LTS which you can quite easily do.Īlso take a look at AMD Driver and Support website and read up about their latest proprietary driver release as there are some instructions on there as well.Īnd ofcourse don't forget to check which one you need to if you do do it via the AMD website or by command line, 32bit or 64bit.The reason I didn't give my specs was because I don't believe they are the problemīe warned though, my PCs are anything but powerful (that said though, it's not the reason for Blender's poor performance) I've always had the best results doing everything by command line and while I'm also aware that some users are worried about messing something up, its also the best way to learn. Now I realize this isn't your problem, but to avoid the problem because it was a pain, try removing/purging all traces of any previous 'fglrx' drivers installed prior, and clean it out, then re-install, and not from menu but via command line. ![]() I just last night, installed Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS on my desktop running AMD 995 Black Edition CPU with HD Radeon 6970 GPU, and nothing would install and kept wanting to send error reports. I'd recommend going to the Ubuntu Help Page for Binary Driver installation. The thing is it removes the previous driver and stops using it when you click to install one of the others. I'd pick from the top and work my way down if nothing changes. Most of the time, the second and third entries are an update and an experimental driver. As a general rule for myself, if they all say the same thing then I check the description, in which case it was the same again.
